Vampire series is done. Really.
Fans of the romantic vampire drama Moonlight will be sad to learn that, despite the best efforts of all the networks that air the show, it has had all the life sucked out of it and is now dead. Not walking-dead, but actually dead. Mortal dead.
According to Hollywood Reporter, a source has said the sets have been dismantled and the show’s soundstage will be taken over by Simon Barker’s new drama The Mentalist.
This is sad. It’s like when Buffy the Vampire Slayer went off the air. Both shows managed to generate such devoted fan bases. It seems viewers in TV land seem to love the concept of mortals and vampires falling in love. It’s just all so bloody romantic.
But there’s also good news in the RGB world of TV! A première date has been set for the second season of Terminator: The Sarah Conner Chronicles – so set your VCRs (you remember those, right? Those machines that play those boxy things and make a lot of noise when they rewind?) for Sept. 8 at 8 p.m. for some sweet, sweet Terminator action.
And if you want to bring home Lena Headey, the Season 1 DVD of the show will be available Aug. 19. Otherwise, a marathon of the first season will run on Fox leading up to the première date.
Sadly, Season 1 had been cut short due to that annoying writers’ strike. But the show had looked promising and many of the actors will be returning for the second season, including Summer Glau, Thomas Dekker, Richard T. Jones, Brian Austin Green and of course, the very attractive Headey.
