If you learn only one thing about Joslyn Pennywell, last week’s bootee from America’s Next Top Model, it’s that she’s persistent.
The Louisiana native is famously known for trying out for Tyra Banks’ reality show more than 30 times – 30 times! And the show’s only in its 11th cycle!
Joslyn was happy to talk to TVGuide.ca about her time on the show and (gasp!) Tyra contradicting herself.
TVGuide.ca: How did you feel about being cut just before the trip to Holland?
Joslyn Pennywell: I was shocked. I wasn’t expecting it, and I didn’t think it was my time to go. I felt I did well, especially with my commercial.
TVG: How much of a factor do you think being sick had on your elimination?
JP: I got a viral illness from something I ate, and I was also dehydrated because I was vomiting so much. They put me on an IV. But I didn’t want a pity party.
I think Tyra contradicted herself a little because she said she couldn’t tell I was sick, but then she said the judges weren’t going to show pity on me because I was sick.
TVG: Tyra said you started out strong, but seemed to be fading. Do you think that was true?
JP: Doing the show is overwhelming. It’s a stressful experience, and I was getting tired. I had down times. But I don’t think I was as bad as they made it out to be.
TVG: What think of the judges’ criticism of your pictures?
JP: I really don’t feel my pictures were as bad as they said they were. And sometimes I think they could have picked a better picture, but you don’t question Tyra’s choice.
TVG: What kept you going through the competition?
JP: I have a very strong faith in God and believe that he has a plan for me. Just because I didn’t win America’s Next Top Model doesn’t mean I’m not going to be a top model.
