If you haven’t already heard, Katherine Heigl has publically said she’d love to return to Grey’s Anatomy. For those with short memories, Heigl left the ABC drama in 2010 because she wanted to spend more time with her adopted daughter, Naleigh.
The timing of her exit was impeccable, as she had just dissed Grey’s writers for not giving her character, Dr. Izzie Stevens, juicy storylines. She even withdrew her name from the 2008 Emmy ballot because she didn’t feel the material warranted Emmy consideration.
Ouch. Now, about two years and an up-and-down big-screen career later, Heigl wants back in. But will the series, and viewers welcome her?
