Ever since Oprah Winfrey announced she was ending her top-rated talk show after 25 years, with the finale pegged for May 2011, networks have been chomping at the bit for a chance to fill the void.

The doyenne of daytime’s departure isn’t the only thing shaking up the small screen for the past couple years. Talkers fronted by Tyra Banks, Martha Stewart and Nate Berkus have all headed up to television heaven.

And though some mainstay shows have survived, prominent hosts have bidden their adieus (Meredith Viera from Today, Regis Philbin from Live With Regis and Kelly) as well as said their bonjours (Gayle King joining CBS This Morning). North of the border, Seamus O'Regan departed Canada AM while Marci Ien took his place.

Of course, we would be remiss if we didn’t mention the long-running soap operas that have breathed their last breaths, clearing up room on the schedule. ABC’s All My Children ended last September, while the network’s One Life to Live died earlier this month.

And the times, they just keep a-changin’. Here’s a breakdown of 10 new, not-so-new, and notable series altering the face of daytime.
