Can you keep up with TV stars on Twitter?
I’m not going to brag or anything, but I was in the Twittersphere long before most people and still am an avid user. It’s OK if you don’t tweet; it’s not for everyone. But if you don’t know what Twitter is by now you are certainly out of the loop.
In a nutshell, it’s another form of social media called micro-blogging and here are the basics to understanding Twitter:
• It’s basically like status updates on Facebook• You can only type 140 characters• People can follow you and you can follow them to see their updates• Why use it? Well, it’s quick, straight to the point and is great for sharing information (like links to new articles posted on TVGuide.ca!)
Obviously celebrities and the media at large jumped on the bandwagon (some of TVGuide.ca’s own have their own accounts, including yours truly! Heck, even President Barack Obama is on Twitter!) Some celebs have quite pointless updates, while others are simply overenthusiastic, to say the least. I predict that this Twitter phenomenon isn’t going anywhere anytime soon so jump on board!
