According to the 2012 Bennie Awards, TV’s worst male reality personality isn’t Mike (The Situation) Sorrentino, nor is it Rob Kardashian. Donald Trump received that title after The Hollywood Temp Diaries released the official winners of the worst in show awards Tuesday afternoon.
Other nominees in the category included Kris Humphries, The Situation, Steve Jones and Randy Jackson. On the female side, Kim Kardashian beat out Audriana Patridge, Brooke Burke, Nicole Shcerzinger and Nicole (Snooki) Polizzi for the title of worst female reality personality.
The winner in the Worst Actress on TV category was Whitney Cummings, who usurped 2 Broke Girls star Beth Behrs, Gossip Girl’s Blake Lively, Revenge’s Madeleine Stowe (who was also nominated for a Golden Globe for the role) and Hart of Dixie’s Rachel Bilson.
The Worst TV Actor trophy went to newly installed Ashton Kutcher on Two and a Half Men. Other nominees included David Caruso from CSI: Miami, David Spade of Rules of Engagement, Jonah Hill of Allen Gregory and Kevin Dillon of How to be a Gentleman.
The Playboy Club won overall in the Worst Scripted Program category, with nominations goings to Allen Gregory, Charlie’s Angels, How to be a Gentleman, The Cape and the only series not yet officially cancelled of the bunch, I Hate My Teenage Daughter.
Teen Mom 2 was named the overall Worst Reality Program, with Audrina, H8R, Jersey Shore, Mob Wives and Saddle Ranch bringing up the rear. Meanwhile, Keeping Up with the Kardashians was named the worst show featuring a Kardashian.
The show that was cancelled too soon, a.k.a. the Pushing Daisies Award, went to HBO’s Bored to Death. Runners-up included The Chicago Code, Detroit 1-8-7, Hung, Lights Out and The United States of Tara.
How accurate are the Bennie Awards? The site uses an open voting process, in which visitors can vote for winners as often and as many times as they’d like, so ambitious voters definitely have the ability to skew results. Still, judging by many of the comments on TV Guide Canada’s boards over the past year, the winners’ list may not be that far off.
