Bear Grylls and Jake Gyllenhall? In a tent? Surviving? Ladies, if you didn’t have a reason to pay attention to your boyfriend’s favourite Discovery show before, you sure have one now! Count me in.
Academy Award nominee Jake Gyllenhaal is about to take a walk on the wild side. The 30-year-old actor will appear on the U.S. season premiere of Man vs. Wild alongside show host Bear Grylls.
To kick off six all-new episodes of the survival show, Grylls is bringing Gyllenhaal as his special guest on a two-day trek, which is described as “brutal Icelandic landscape dominated by mountains, glaciers and volcanoes,” where the skilled actor battles his intense fear of heights.
In a sneak preview of the episode, Grylls warns his new friend that “it takes balls — I’m not joking,” to which the actor replies, “Well, they’re right up in my throat right now.”
Gyllenhaal isn’t the first celebrity to appear on the Discovery show. In 2009, funnyman Will Ferrell joined Grylls on a survival trip to Northern Sweden.
