Well, no real surprises here, save some scheduling tweaks. CBS announced its new fall schedule on Wednesday morning, revealing five new series and the return of many more.
Gone are previously announced cancellations $#*! My Dad Says, Mad Love, The Defenders and the Criminal Minds spinoff, Suspect Behavior; added are freshman series 2 Broke Girls, Unforgettable, How to Be a Gentleman, Person of Interest and A Gifted Man.
The Good Wife nabbed a third season, but moves to Sunday nights (it will now be in direct competition with ABC’s Desperate Housewives), while CSI is shifting from its plum Thursday timeslot to Wednesdays following Criminal Minds and Survivor.
The Big Bang Theory, which was moved to Thursdays last fall, will continue to anchor TV’s biggest night, serving as the lead-in to new comedy How to Be a Gentleman. The Eye’s other new comedy, 2 Broke Girls, will kick off Monday nights following a new season of How I Met Your Mother, and serve as a lead-in to the new Two and a Half Men, now starring Ashton Kutcher.
Also returning are Mike & Molly, Hawaii Five-0, NCIS: Los Angeles, Criminal Minds, The Mentalist, CSI: NY, Blue Bloods, 60 Minutes, CSI: Miami, The Amazing Race and Rules of Engagement. Rules is the odd man out, though, having been shifted to Saturday nights.
As for the midseason schedule, CBS remains mum on most of its decisions. Undercover Boss and another new acquisition, Robert De Niro’s series The 2-2, will land there, but the Eye is promising other pickups as well.
