Well, that didn’t take very long.

David Anders, whose 24 character, Josef, was recently killed off, has already been snapped up — by The Vampire Diaries.

Anders’ specialty is playing the charming villain, so he’s likely heading to Mystic Falls with not-so-good intentions.

According to an EW.com insider, the Alias and Heroes alum will play Elena and Jeremy’s uncle, Jonathan Gilbert, who — you guessed it! — will “cause some trouble.”

On the CW show, Jonathan Gilbert is the name of Elena (Nina Dobrev) and Jeremy’s (Steven R. McQueen) ancestor from the 1800s. The character debuted via flashback in early February, but was played by Joe Knezevich.

Anders’ version of Jonathan is scheduled to show up in April.

The actor joins a growing list of guest stars on the CW hit, including Mia Kirshner, Jasmine Guy, Sean Faris and Kelly Hu.

Anders appeared in every season of Alias, where he played Julian Sark, one of the many thorns in Sydney Bristow’s (Jennifer Garner) side. On Heroes, the actor portrayed Adam Monroe, the primary antagonist in the show’s second season.

The Vampire Diaries airs Thursdays, 7 p.m. ET, CTV; 8 p.m. ET/PT, The CW.
