Lost isn’t returning to TV until early 2010, but anyone following the show knows that the plan for the upcoming last season is to have most of the original actors back on board in what will possibly be a rewind season of sorts.

Ian Somerhalder and Dominic Monaghan are two original actors who will definitely return for the farewell season, and Maggie Grace has certainly been rumoured for a return. But E!Online now reports that contracts have been offered to most of the original Lost actors at this point, although the capacity in which they would each appear varies.

One star, however, is apparently turning down the offer.

The article doesn’t say which actor is holding out, but says that “this is a person you’d assume would very much want to return to the series.”

While we can’t confirm who the actor is question is, we have strong suspicions it’s Harold Perrineau, otherwise known as Michael. It’s no secret that the star was unhappy with the way his character was written out, even telling TV Guide that he questioned whether or not race was a factor in the decision:

“Listen, if I’m being really candid, there are all these questions about how they respond to black people on the show,” he said. “Sayid gets to meet Nadia again, and Desmond and Penny hook up again, but a little black boy and his father hooking up, that wasn’t interesting?”

Perrineau also fits the bill of someone we would think would want to return to the series, given that his subsequent project, The Unusuals, was cancelled this summer.
