Is Evangeline Lilly escaping the Lost island forever? It depends on whom you believe.
Zap2it.com breathlessly reported yesterday that Lilly is walking the pilot season beat, and has been auditioning for shows that may be picked up by networks for the fall.
Logically, it means that if a pilot is picked up, she would leave Sawyer, Jack and the rest of them behind for good.
Now, Lost producers Carlton Cuse and Damon Lindelof are secretive dudes, but I find it hard to believe that they would consider killing off a character as integral to Lost storylines as Lilly’s Kate.
Still, Lost is known for the occasional plot twist – like Ben strangling John with an electrical cord in this week’s shocker episode – so Kate could be toast, right?
But now hold on, says the actress’ representative. E! Online quickly countered with its own story last night, refuting Zap2it’s claim as “absolutely false,” according to her publicist.
Currently, Lilly’s Kate is back on the island with Jack, Hurley et. al., where they truly belong, and we can’t wait until she and Kate and Sawyer are reunited (cue the ‘70s tune).
