Pam Anderson, who’s already well-known for her lobbying efforts for animal rights group PETA, is petitioning U.S. president-elect Barack Obama to legalize marijuana.
Looks like we could have a budding politician on our hands. (Budding. Ha. See how I just did that?)
According to MSN.com, the former Baywatch star posted a blog entry in which she lists what she perceives as high-priority issues for the next U.S. president.
The Canadian-born actress writes, “I think we should Legalize Marijuana, tax and monitor, farm Hemp etc – this would make our borders less corrupt and then I think eventually this will be more secure option and save children in the long run.”
She continues, “We should be able to farm Hemp in America – it’s just silly – it would create jobs – and be good for environment.”
Anderson also touched on national subjects such as immigration reform, promoting vegetarianism and getting rid of private healthcare.
On the horizon for Anderson is a film called Hollywood & Wine, which is scheduled to hit theatres sometime in 2009.
