Don’t hassle the Hoff. Oh wait, that’s a T-shirt. This article is about another self-promoting gimmick the former Knight Rider stud has created — HoffSpace.

Yes, that’s right, HoffSpace. Now avid David Hasselhoff fans can join what absolutely no one is calling the next Facebook and share thoughts, ideas, rants, and maybe even some Haiku about Mitch Buchannon, er … I mean Hasselhoff.

“In my travels round the world, I have always been surprised that no matter where I go people recognize and know me,” the 56-year-old writes on the welcome page.

“This got me thinking ... I realized that while two people from two entirely different countries and backgrounds may seem to have nothing in common, the only thing they might have in common is me ... So I decided to start a network where people from across the world might come together and get a conversation started over me.”

Honestly, a show of hands: who else thinks this is absolutely brilliant?

Yeah, that’s what I thought.

Still, there’s a fan base out there — a quick glance tells us that there are already more than 13,000 members adoring the space, writing comments like “MySpace is clearly for suckers when things like this are now in existence,” and “Being #13325 brings me 13325 places closer to The Hoff’s heart ... jealous much?”

Being a member not only allows fans to share a mutual love for the judge of America’s Got Talent, but they can also watch videos, lounge in the chat room or get a head start on purchasing pointless paraphernalia. Personally, I’m going to go for the 2009 Calendar, because there’s nothing sexier than the Hoff with exposed chest hair.

I wonder when he’ll be posting his daughter’s homemade hamburger video?

He deserves some credit, at least he owns up to the cheesy persona and is able to make fun of himself. Let’s be honest, who doesn’t love The Hoff, right? That’s it, I’m joining.
