Twitters are a-twittering this afternoon in L.A. as the executives from HBO announced the renewal of three ratings-grabbers for the network – Entourage, True Blood and Hung – bringing each respective series up to their seventh, third and sophomore seasons.

As for some other network gems, things are still up in the air. The execs claim to be working hard to bring back The No. 1 Ladies Detective Agency, despite the person who was the “creative vision behind the show” passing away, while the network is trying “put together” a third season of In Treatment, which could prove to be difficult since the Israeli series on which it’s based only lasted two seasons.

Meanwhile, Little Britain USA is dead as we know it, although HBO is in development to bring back some specials based on the series, but with brand-new characters.

The network also announced that Eastbound & Down, which was renewed for a second season earlier this year, will begin production sometime early next year, and Flight of the Conchords Season 3 is pretty much solidified, once the guys on the show are ready to go.

“They’re not only writing a television show, but an album,” said Richard Plepler, HBO's co-president. “As soon as they tell us they’re ready, we’re a go.”

The network also announced a new animated project from Ricky Gervais based on his podcast, and it will begin production sometime next year.
