Pre-strike: This freshman series covered quite a bit of ground relationship-wise leading up to the strike and has garnered a cult following, though it’s slipped in the ratings and has been panned by critics. Aside from the “investigation of the week” formula, Jill prepared to move in with Luke (who soon found out about her affair), Lindsay dove back into the dating pool and had a pregnancy scare, and Heather got hitched.

Post-strike: Only one new episode of Murder Club has aired since the strike, the April 29 episode. Fans reacted well to the fast-paced return instalment, in which Lindsay’s shifty ex-cop dad suddenly popped back into her life – coincidental, since she was bending the rules in the investigation of the murder of an undercover cop. And, some would argue, a little forced. Cindy, for her part, still felt alienated from The Club.

Character Development: The dynamics in The Club have been tested, and a new man has entered Lindsay’s life. As mentioned, plenty of relationship drama has happened for the girls and their characters are growing at a good pace.

Cliffhangers/Wrap Up: With two more episodes left to air, Murder Club looks like it will continue along the same trajectory. After an initial dip, its ratings have climbed and could finish out the season on a good note. But, with creators and exec producers Sarah Fain and Elizabeth Craft replaced by Robert Nathan, who knows if the series will remain the one that fans have grown to love.
