PARADISE FALLS, Wednesdays, 9:30 pm ET, Showcase
Returns: Sept. 2
Where we left off: It’s been ages since we’ve last seen the gang on one of the sudsiest Canadian soap operas ever – in fact, the last episode of Season 2 graced screens in December 2004. In "Another Day," Bea (Dixie Seatle) discovered the truth about Pete (Art Hindle), and she wasn’t impressed. Rose (Tammy Isbell) spilled some happy news, and Anne (Kate Trotter) gave a resolution to her son’s marriage to Pamela (Cherilee Taylor).
Predictions: Showcase says the new season will delve into gay weddings gone awry, mysterious sightings in the woods, creepy cults, missing bodies, racy couples, love triangles and dirty politics. Sounds like good, campy fun, no? We’re betting Paradise Falls will pull out all the stops to deliver what press releases are saying is “The gayest CanCon on TV!”
The buzz: Let’s just hope that with about half of the original cast gone and new characters flooding in, fans will stick with the series – that is, if they remember it. Gay and bisexual website AfterElton.com gushed about the return of Paradise Falls in August, saying, “In addition to the hotness of the actors (who are frequently divested of clothing), the show has that certain Canadian ... something that makes it special.” The show airs on Here! in the U.S.
