HOW IT’S MADE, Tuesdays, 8 p.m. ET, Discovery
Returns: Sept. 1
Where we left off: The show deconstructed the inner workings and production of everyday objects, as per usual. Last season featured items such as golf cars, screwdrivers, deodorant, the Jaws of Life and escalators.
Predictions: This series, now in its 13th season, is almost as old as Discovery itself and we can’t see it ending anytime soon – especially with its pun-tastic narration. Although, we do wonder when the show will run out of things to dissect.
The buzz: This season’s announced products include ballpoint pens, Alpine horns, pressure cookers, bowling balls, chandeliers and Swiss cheese. Also, in fun news, American grindcore band The Red Chord named its upcoming fourth album, Fed Through the Teeth Machine, in honour of this series. Vocalist Guy Kozowyk told Revolver magazine, "It's from the Discovery Channel show How It's Made. They were talking about this machine they feed zippers through, but we just thought the name was creepy."
