DOG THE BOUNTY HUNTER, Wednesdays, 9:30 p.m. ET, A&E

Returns: Sept. 2

Where we left off: Dog (a.k.a. Duane Chapman) continued to capture people who’ve run afoul of the law. At the end of Season 6, in an episode called “Three’s Company,” Dog and his posse tailed a fugitive in downtown Honolulu. But they quickly realized there was another family member who was trying to outsmart the law as well.

Predictions: There’ll be more of the same, as Dog balances his perilous job with his family life. Fugitives will be hunted, justice will be served and Dog’s hair will continue to flap furiously in the wind.

The buzz: In April, reports surfaced that while Dog and fellow bounty hunter Bobby Brown tried to apprehend a murder suspect in Colorado Springs, Col., the man shot at him before fleeing on a motorcycle – though much ado was made over whether bullets actually hit Dog. In more pleasant news, Dog’s daughter and co-star, Lyssa Chapman, had a baby girl in August. This show’s had an off-and-on history, and a haze of controversy always seems to, ahem, dog it. So we’re not sure how many more years Bounty Hunter has with A&E. Cats have nine lives; how many seasons do Dogs have?
