SUDSIEST QUOTE OF THE WEEKEND
“I had a gay storyline ... for a day. DAYS tried to hit on a lot of social issues [at the time] and they were in the forefront.”
—Wesley Eure (ex-Mike, DAYS) to We Love Soaps
Translation: So did World Turns’s Nuke.

WEEKEND SUDS FLASHES
AMC — Zendall update! One Life burns bridges in NJ! MTS out!
• Daytime’s biggest douche-bag super-couple, Kendall and Zach, are leaving Pine Valley together. Actors Alicia Minshew and Thorsten Kaye only have three last episodes to tape. Thankfully, AMC’s taping schedule is so far ahead that the actress’s early birth didn’t affect the schedule. Minshew will return at the end of the month and film the farewell, report sources. The character’s myriad on-screen children will also exit the canvas. Whew. As previously reported, AMC will finish taping on Dec. 11 and then start re-taping around Jan. 11, 2010. Good times. Let’s hope now that One Life is taping in the same studio as The View that daytime’s redheaded stepchild may benefit from their new neighbours. Riiight.

One Life is coming to Canada! Well, sort of. The fierce crew of daytime’s best soap hightailed it to Raritan, N.J. in Somerset County to film upcoming action-packed sequences. The location will double as the  American-Canadian border during a highly charged storyline. The Nevius Street Bridge stood in as a backdrop for a hostage situation on Washington’s border with Canada. Todd, Blair, Téa, Bo, Nora, Danielle and Ross were involved. Let’s hope ABC left out the fact that Stacy was thrown over the bridge. The One Life episodes shot in Raritan will air the weeks of Dec. 7 and 14.

• Which two east-coast Emmy-winning leading men were absolutely humiliated and disgusted when they had to film a recent “hellish” fantasy sequence?

• According to The Republic’s website, Y&R's Melody Thomas Scott had to back out of her new web series, The Republic, in which she was set to star. In a release on the show’s official website, it details that due to an emergency for Melody there needed to be an “emergency” recast for Melody’s role of Martha. Film star Sean Young was a last-minute recast. Interesting since Young was one of the names mentioned as a possible Jill recast on Y&R during Jess Walton’s contract battle.

• Which former east-coast executive producer experienced a minor breakdown after her show went off the air? That’s why she didn’t attend the Emmys.
