I’m confused. I thought Dario and Romina had one of the best dances of the night and yet they were sent poppin’ and lockin’ out the door and back to regular dance life. But what went wrong? I thought these two were much stronger than certain couples, even those that were standing with them in the bottom three.
The Performance in Question
Besides the mambo dance that Allie and Danny dished out – p.s. she looked smoking hot in that little two-piece ensemble – this jazz number was the best of the night. Of course this is all just my opinion but I didn’t enjoy Caroline and Jesse as toy soldiers and I wasn’t crazy about the contemporary jail cell number by Tamina and Joey.
When Dario and Romina went to receive the judges’ critiques, their response as a whole was lukewarm. The response for Romina, however, was flawless. Her incredible leaps and the determination in her face was a performance that showed she did not deserve to be in the bottom.
On the Chopping Block
The bottom three fellas were Vincent, Jesse and Dario. I thought for sure Jesse was going to be sent home but to my dismay Dario was out of the competition. Immediately I thought “But he ripped off his shirt during the auditions! How can you vote someone out that ripped his own shirt off during an audition?” I guess the judges didn’t think his uniqueness was something to hold on to.
The ladies picked for elimination were Romina, Lisa and Caroline. Considering the raves that the judges had given her for her "Disturbia" Jazz performance I thought for sure she would be safe. I was wrong again. The stunning Torontonian will be running in the competition no more. I feel I’ve been robbed.
The Final 16 Revealed
Finally, the 16 dancers lucky enough to perform another day were revealed. Left on stage were Tamina and Joey, Lara and Miles, Natallie and Francis, Lisa and Vincent, Caroline and Jesse, Kaitlyn and Izaak, Allie and Danny and last but not least Arassay and Nico.
I still will be rooting for my top two dancers, Allie and Miles, to soar through the next eliminations and keep rocking my Wednesday nights with some seriously fierce dancing.
Did you think Romina and Dario deserved to go home? Let me know. oliveiraj@tvguide.ca
