Most reality television stars are just looking for 15 minutes of fame (or in the case of a competition series, money, a record deal or true love), and they're content to go on with their lives, resting on unscripted notoriety.
But for some that's not enough. They want to make the move to acting on scripted television series, to portray someone else on the small screen. Some have had more success than others, and only one has ever turned their reality show appearance into an Academy Award (American Idol's Jennifer Hudson).
We salute those reality TV stars who have made the jump to scripted roles on TV.
