One of the biggest reader complaints we receive here at TVGuide.ca is that Canadians are snubbed from casting calls for TV’s most popular reality shows. Survivor, Big Brother and The Amazing Race are just a few of the American reality offenders who ban us Canucks from competing in upcoming seasons.

But that hasn’t stopped us from trying. For those shows that do allow all North Americans to flock to casting calls, Canadians have made big splashes on screen. Not all positive though. Recently Toronto’s Justin ‘Rated R’ Rego had Bachelorette fans up in arms over his deceiving behaviour with single gal Ali Fedotowsky when she found out he had a girlfriend the whole time.

Don’t worry – our impeccable reputation hasn’t been shattered by one baffoon. Other true north natives have become fan favourites on reality series with contestants such as Sean Cullen on Last Comic Standing, Jillian Harris on The Bachelorette and who can forget J.D. Fortune winning on Rock Star: INXS.

Most recently So You Think You Can Dance’s Alex Wong (who hails from Vancouver) wowed audiences and had viewers in tears over his early departure due to an injury. Here’s hoping the talented ballet dancer will make an appearance on the Gemini Award-winning Canadian version (featuring judge Blake McGrath who also appeared on the U.S. show) which returns this week for its third season with five back-to-back audition episodes and includes an appearance from the sorely missed “Scream Queen” Mary Murphy.

In celebration of So You Think You Can Dance Canada’s anticipated return – in no particular order – here are our favourite Canadians who have appeared on U.S. reality shows.

So You Think You Can Dance Canada returns on Sunday, Aug. 15 at 9 p.m. ET/PT on CTV.
