Kitchens are one of the most expensive and difficult renovations that you can do in your home.

Being displaced while new cabinets come in, plumbing is finished, a new island is built and stainless steel appliances are hooked up can be stressful on a relationship and a budget.

But have no fear, Marc Bartolomeo, host of Kitchen Impossible, is here.

The burly carpenter and electrician takes all the frustration out of renovating a home kitchen by swooping in with his crew, accessing the situation, drawing up plans and then executing the job.

Take Vernon and Nicole Davis, for instance. The couple and their three kids have had to make due with Vernon’s slap-dash attempt at updating the high-traffic area, to mixed results. The guy tried his best, but a sloppy attempt at tiling and adding an extension to the countertop with a lack of skill has made the kitchen workable, but not what the family wanted.

Enter Bartolomeo, who ripped up, threw out, drew up, nailed, painted, cut and mounted a super-cool, updated kitchen that the family will never want to leave.

The affable Bartolomeo is the perfect host, part everyday dude, part hunk and part teacher, offering tips and tricks of the trade while getting the job done.

Kitchen Impossible airs Fridays at 10 p.m. ET/PT on DIY Network
